In the meantime, we put one foot ahead of the other and keep moving. That's all anyone can do. Just keep moving. After all, it's harder to hit a moving target, right? :)
Two announcements today ... Ta - da!! and drumroll, please!
1) Today marks the début of our column, Wish you were here: Postcards from the Kingdom of Coco, in the July issue of Quilt Pattern Magazine.
and 2)
Did you hear???
We are pleased to announce that our friend, Karen Neary, has had her gorgeous quilt, Ostentation, selected as a finalist in the Timeless Treasures Stitch Star Contest.
You can vote for People's Choice Award right here: http://sewtimeless.net/?p=1337
~ Keep on truckin' (showing our age with that choice of phrase, we fear) ...
You are sooooooooooooo sweet - thank you for the plug. :) Congratulations on the debut of your column - can't wait to read it!
ReplyDeleteAs for directionlessness (surely that's a word??)none of us know(s) where we are headed, or what the point is supposed to be. We have to make our own point. I am always delighted to see the various ways you express your talents on this blog and hope that you continue to post. Polly and I counted our empty kitty-treat bags this morning and we have almost enough to make one of your bags. I keep telling Polly if she would behave a bit better and be more deserving of treats we'd have one made by now. She just yawned..
I noticed the column almost first thing when I started scrolling through the magazine this morning! And I did join one of those self help groups way back in 1991 and I STILL am not cured! Very hearty congratulations on the column (my favourite part is the pictures) hahahaha...
ReplyDeleteCheryl, I don't always reply to your postings, but I love reading your blog. Your creations are beautiful, but even when you haven't created anything, I just like hearing about what you and Cassie are up to. If it's time to move on, then it's time, but please don't do so because you feel discouraged.
ReplyDeleteI hope this is just a temporary feeling you are experiencing regarding the blog. We all feel like that from time to time. Remember that your blog is also a timeless record of your hard work and talents. Whether or not you receive a lot of responses truly does not matter. What matters is that you are creating a priceless record of who you are and what you enjoy that your family and friends will treasure for years to come.
ReplyDeleteP.S. I voted for Karen's stunning work, best of luck to her :)
Everyone who has responded has done so better than I can. All I can suggest is to hang on, or as you've said, "Keep on truckin'" because when we're in the midst of these feelings things can feel hopeless or useless, but then, suddenly, everything changes and you're happily on your way again. Another saying that most, if not all of us, can relate to - "Been there. Done That." Just coming out of another one myself connected with health challenges. It's taught me to hang in there.
ReplyDeleteMay I echo Wendy's wise words? - If it's time to move on, then do, but wait until your feelings of discouragement are gone to make that decision. You can also take a hiatus. We'll understand and wait, albeit impatiently ;-) for your return. Like your other blog followers, I love your blog. It's the only one I never miss reading. You make a wonderful difference in our lives and your writing talent, your creative talents, and your sense of humour never fail to brighten my days.
I voted for Karen, too. Her quilt is a wonderful work of art!
Karen's quilt is lovely. I was happy to vote for it.
