In search of the past
There used to be a bakery in Kingston, ON, in the '80s. National Bakery, I think it was called. They made an oatmeal turnover cookie with date filling. Fabulous! I've tried a couple of times over the years to duplicate them. This time I think I'm close. Of course, I had to try to make them a little feline, since everything goes better with a cat.

And were they so tasty you had to have a wee bite? I sent 3 varieties of homemade biscuits to grandson who is at University, They were so appreciated, and this recipe might be a winner down there too.
ReplyDeleteI buy one of those cookies whenever I see them. I have tried to make them.
